Abstract

The microfluidic epithelial models to mimic microenvironment physiologically has potential to be a useful tool for drug screening and pathophysiologic researches. Although a number of researches have demonstrated in-vitro nasal epithelial models, only few studies showed complicated nasal mucous membrane models. Here, we introduced a new 3-dimmensional (3D) in-vitro human nasal mucosa model with glands by optimizing culture conditions such as media, air-interfacing, hydrogels and type of cells in micro-scale. The similarity between in-vivo nasal mucous membrane and our invitro model suggest its utilization as a reliable research model for nasal disease models.
